I'm Home!!!

It has been a month since I added anything to my blog so I thought I better let you all know I am alive and well. Coleen and I had a fabulous trip to visit with Tammie. She was a fantastic hostess. She took us all over and made some good German meals for us. She made sure we had the full bakery experience while there. I know I ate more things from the fresh bakery there in three weeks than I have here in the last ten years. The autobon (I don't know how to spell it) was an experience I don't think I'll ever forget. I always thought Bob was a fast driver on the freeways, but his daughter, Tammie, can outdo him. We went 180 kilometers in a tiny car that I didn't think could go that fast. I think Tammie told me that is like 110 miles an hour. We stayed in a hostle in Frankfurt, which I had never done before. Coleen has written much more and has good pictures, so be sure and check out her blog. The countryside was just beautiful. We saw castles, a walled city. the biggest Christmas tree in the world, and many many Christmas Markets. I will not miss the cobblestone roads. Now that I am home, I will miss Tammie and my five grandchildren who live so far away. Gardner was so nice because he took Thursdays and Fridays off work so he could watch the kids while Tammie, Coleen and I played. Jet lag has really set in. I wake up at 3-4 am every morning ready to get up and go. However by 10 -11 am I'm ready for a nap. So far I haven't been able to take one yet. Just in case it takes me a while to get back to this blog, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

I just read that I need to tag three people so Kimberly I'm adding your name to the list.

I've been tagged!

Coleen tagged me so here are 7 random things about me:

1. I am the mother of 7 children and 22 grandchildren.
2. I just got home from tithing settlement for the year.
3. While I was walking into the church for tithing settlement, I was stopped by one of my first grade students from 19 years ago. She is married and has a cute baby that I held for a few minutes while we talked.
4. This week Jennifer and I made 5 batches of Almond Roca. Next week I get to make more with Julie and Coleen.
5. I've completed my Visiting Teaching for the month and have reported it to my supervisor.
6. I still need to buy a few more things that Tammie wants me to bring to her.
7. Nine days until Coleen and I leave for Germany.

There I did it! I bet you are surprised. Me too. Now I tag Debbie and Melissa.

I finally know how to write

It has been over a month since Coleen taught me how to do this blog. I have tried several times to add to it, but nothing ever worked for me. Since Coleen was here tonight, she taught me how to add to it. Maybe I can at least write once a week. Tomorrow I am going with a friend to learn how to crochet with grocery bags. That is about as challenging as life has been for me lately. Things are going good and I'm actually getting things ready for Christmas. I have only two weeks left to have everything done. Coleen and I are doing the countdown until we leave for Germany. Jennifer is coming this Friday to make Almond Roca. We always make it the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving, but Jennifer is leaving for Cancun then, so she and I are doing it early. I'll still help the rest of the girls at the usual time.

Learning to Scan

Coleen came over today to help me scan some pictures we found at my parents' house, since we have been going through some of their things. I found this picture of Grandma and Grandpa sleeping on a couch. I think my mom is expecting David in this picture. Do any of you remember Grandpa telling you that you were too young to be tired???????? Maybe that's why he kept this picture so well hidden. The other picture is of my cousin and I as teenagers. Now I know how to scan pictures so maybe I can do this all by myself and do an entry more often.

Today is my mom's birthday so I went and took flowers up to her grave. I just wanted to let you know the head stone is on from dad's funeral and everything looks really good up there. If I would have thought of it, I should have taken a camera and taken a picture so those of you who live far away could see it.
